The limited space available for the placement of insulation materials is a common refurbishment problem. Polyurethane rigid foams have excellent low thermal conductivity, making them one of the thinnest and smallest footprint solutions.

Like all organic building materials, polyurethane rigid foams are combustible materials, but can be calibrated for flammability and burn rate to suit a variety of architectural applications. Polyurethane insulation is usually protected by non-combustible or protective covering materials; the use of steel and other cladding materials can greatly improve the overall fire performance of the composite panel.
compatibility
Most of the building's cladding materials (including paper, fiberglass, aluminum, composite panels, gypsum board, asphalt and foil) are compatible with polyurethane rigid foam. The inherent strength of the foam can be increased in a variety of combinations to allow it to be used in semi-structures and cladding. It can also be coated with decorative surfaces such as face paint and plaster, so that the product can effectively exert moisture resistance in a high-humidity environment.
Adhesion
In the curing stage, polyurethane rigid foams are extremely strong and can be bonded to a variety of building facing materials. Adhesion often exceeds the tensile strength or shear strength of the foam.
Durability
Polyurethane insulation is not affected by water vapor or air permeation, does not sag or bulge, and is difficult to crush, which better ensures that it has high performance throughout the life of the building.
Water vapor permeation
Polyurethane rigid foams have a low water vapor permeability. Polyurethane foam products with aluminum foil or polyethylene film coverings will have water vapor permeability of these materials.
Lightweight
The typical density of polyurethane rigid foam is 30 kg/m 3 , at which time 97% of the volume of the body is the gas remaining in the void, while the polyurethane polymer only accounts for 3%. The light weight of the material is also a big advantage, which reduces transportation costs and ensures easier handling and installation on site.
